Redesigning how
enterprise buyers
experience Experian.
Project Davinci was a ground-up rethink of Experian's B2B homepage and global navigation - aligning product, engineering, and content across a complex enterprise org.
ROLE
Lead UX Designer
Led UX end-to-end - translating an agency-developed taxonomy into a three-level mega menu and redesigned homepage experience, partnering with engineering to ensure precise spec handoff.
Timeframe: 6-9mo
SCOPE
Homepage
+ MegaNav
+ MegaBanner
+ Solution Selector
+ Scrolling Media
Following Forrester research that confirmed a fundamental navigation rethink was needed, Experian partnered with an external agency to develop a simplified three-level taxonomy. Our team brought it to life - designing the mega menu from the ground up alongside three new homepage components for the FSD launch
CONTEXT
The problem
behind the project
Experian's B2B website (experian.com/business) operates within a siloed matrix organization, creating fragmented user experiences across business units. When I joined, the Integrated Marketing team was leading Project Davinci - a board-sponsored initiative to unify the global navigation and refresh the homepage around a new positioning strategy.
Experian's B2B web presence had grown organically across business units - Banking, Healthcare, Automotive - without a unified design language or navigation strategy. Enterprise buyers landing on the homepage faced a fragmented, inconsistent experience that failed to reflect the sophistication of the product.
The initiative introduced a new product organizing principle called "Business Needs" - shifting from a product-centric to a user-intent-centric navigation model. The design challenge was creating a unified global nav that reflected this new taxonomy while remaining intuitive for existing users.

“UX projects are never that linear.... we use different fidelity of approaches in the creation of wireframes and mockups, while learning from the users ”

Discover • Define
Heuristic Evaluation + User Testing
Discovery spanned a navigation architecture audit, competitive analysis across TransUnion, Equifax, and Socure, and synthesis of Forrester research, stakeholder requirements, and working session recordings. The resulting foundation aligned key stakeholders and drove scoped JIRA tickets for the work ahead. We also conducted user testing to validate how users currently navigate the site.
Discovery artifacts are under NDA - happy to discuss methodology in detail.

Brand
Branding Exploration
Branding exploration was iterative by nature - running in parallel with wireframing and high-fidelity mockup development rather than as a discrete phase. As multiple components were being designed and refined simultaneously: the Mega Navigation, MegaBanner Hero, Solution Selector, and Scrolling Media - visual direction was evolving alongside them.
A key context for this work: Experian was actively shifting its brand perception from a consumer credit bureau to an innovative data and technology company. That repositioning made visual and tonal decisions especially consequential - every design choice was an opportunity to reinforce the new narrative or undermine it.
My role spanned both creation and review. I developed exploratory directions, evaluated options against brand guidelines and stakeholder input, and signed off on final templates and page designs before handoff.

DESIGN
High-Fidelity Mockups + Component System
I produced high-fidelity mockups in Figma, building on the Experian Design System to ensure consistency and implementation-readiness. All components were documented in the AEM Learning Center, giving content authors the guidance they needed to deploy them independently. Because the B2B site serves users across device contexts, every component required fully responsive design - delivered across five breakpoints: desktop, laptop, tablet landscape, tablet portrait, and mobile.Specifications and product requirements were documented in figma and handed over to Engineering.

Global Mega Navigation
Final Design
Mega menu redesign spanning Banking, Healthcare, and Automotive verticals - unified IA with business unit editorial flexibility.
——
Solution Selector Component
Final Design
Modular component library with detailed annotation standards, variant documentation, and dev handoff specifications.

Scrolling Media Component
Final Design
This project also created an opportunity to expand the team’s design capacity. I partnered with my manager to interview and onboard a contract designer, integrating him into the design system and guiding his ramp-up on the Scrolling Media component.
I provided mentorship and support to the designer through delivery to ensure alignment with system standards and quality expectations.
